The General Assembly, in its resolution 48/163, requested the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftieth session to give the proposal its priority consideration.

In compliance with resolution 1993/33, the Secretary-General submitted a report (E/CN.4/1994/24) to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftieth session in which he presented a list of forensic experts and institutions recommended by Governments and non-governmental organizations.
٣- وامتثالاً للقرار ٣٩٩١/٣٣ قدم اﻷمين العام تقريراً (E/CN.4/1994/24) إلى لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان في دورتها الخمسين عرض فيه قائمة بخبراء ومؤسسات العلوم الشرعية الموصى بهم من الحكومات والمنظمات غير الحكومية.

In addition to the above-mentioned resolutions, several other resolutions adopted by the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftieth session are also pertinent within the framework of the mandate of the Special Rapporteur and have been taken into consideration in examining and analysing the information brought to his attention with regard to the different countries.

In view of the events of the past year, the Special Rapporteur considers that his conclusions in his report to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftieth session are more valid than ever (E/CN.4/1994/58, paras. 142-189).

The Commission requested the Secretary-General to report to it at its fiftieth session in regard to action taken in respect of the succession or accession to international human rights treaties of successor States which were members of the United Nations.
