٤٦ - تحتفظ لجنة الصليب اﻷحمر الدولية بوجود دائم في رواندا منذ عام ١٩٩٠، حيث تعمل على توفير الحماية والمساعدة لضحايا النزاع بين حكومة رواندا والجبهة الوطنية الرواندية.

5. By the same resolution, the Security Council urged the Government of Rwanda and RPF to conclude a comprehensive peace agreement and requested the Secretary-General to report to the Council on the results of the peace talks which were being held at Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.
٥ - وبنفس القرار، حث المجلس حكومة رواندا والجبهة الوطنية الرواندية على أن تعقدا اتفاقا شاملا للسلم وطلب الى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم الى المجلس تقريرا عن نتائج محادثات السلم التي كانت تجري آنئذ في أروشا، بجمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة.

13. In that report, the Secretary-General informed the Council that the peace agreement between the Government of Rwanda and the RPF had been signed in Arusha on 4 August 1993.

4. In the meantime, efforts by the OAU and the United Republic of Tanzania led to an agreement between the Government of Rwanda and the RPF on a reinstatement of the cease-fire and to the resumption of peace talks in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.
٤ - وفي غضون ذلك، أدت الجهود التي بذلتها منظمة الوحدة الافريقية وجمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة إلى عقد اتفاق بين حكومة رواندا والجبهة الوطنية الرواندية بشأن إعادة إقرار وقف إطلاق النار واستئناف محادثات السلم في أروشا، جمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة.

14. The Secretary-General also reported that he had sent a reconnaissance mission to Rwanda at the request of the Government of Rwanda and the RPF in order to assess the needs of a proposed neutral international force that would facilitate the implementation of the provisions of the peace agreement.
٤١ - كما أفاد اﻷمين العام أنه قام بإيفاد بعثة استطلاعية إلى رواندا بناء على طلب حكومة رواندا والجبهة الوطنية الرواندية من أجل تقييم احتياجات القوة الدولية المحايدة المقترحة التي ستعمل على تيسير تنفيذ أحكام اتفاق السلم.

16. In paragraph 11 of its resolution 846 (1993) of 22 June 1993, the Security Council had requested the Secretary-General to report on the contribution the United Nations could make to assist the OAU in the implementation of a comprehensive peace agreement between the Government of Rwanda and the RPF and to begin contingency planning in the event that the Council decided such a contribution was needed.
٦١ - وفي الفقرة ١١ من القرار ٦٤٨ )٣٩٩١( المؤرخ ٢٢ حزيران/يونيه ٣٩٩١، طلب مجلس اﻷمن إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا بشأن ما يمكن لﻷمم المتحدة أن توفره من مساهمة لمساعدة منظمة الوحدة الافريقية في تنفيذ اتفاق شامل للسلم بين حكومة رواندا والجبهة الوطنية الرواندية وأن يبدأ في وضع خطة للطوارئ إذا قرر المجلس أن الحاجة تدعو إلى تلك المساهمة.

6. In his report dated 24 August 1993, 2/ the Secretary-General informed the Council that a peace agreement between the Government of Rwanda and RPF had been signed in Arusha on 4 August 1993.
٦ - وأبلغ اﻷمين العام الى المجلس، في تقريره المؤرخ ٢٤ آب/أغسطس ١٩٩٣)٢(، أن اتفاقا للسلم بين حكومة رواندا والجبهة الوطنية الرواندية وقع في أروشا في ٤ آب/أغسطس ١٩٩٣.
