41. CRC recommended that Costa Rica ensure the protection of child victims and witnesses, as well as their access to redress and reparation.

The Committee notes the initiative to incorporate child victim and witness protection into the criminal procedure law and welcomes the array of measures aiming at protecting child victims, child witnesses and collaborators through criminal procedures.

28. We call upon States to develop and strengthen, where appropriate, legislation, policies and practices to punish all forms of crime that target children and youth, as well as for the protection of child victims and witnesses.

While noting the initiative to incorporate child victim and witness protection into the criminal procedure law, CRC was concerned that special protection measures in relation to interrogation only covered children younger than 15 years.
