1. Approves the draft Agreement between the United Nations and the Royal Government of Cambodia concerning the Prosecution under Cambodian Law of Crimes Committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea contained in the annex to the present resolution;
1 - توافق على مشروع الاتفاق بين الأمم المتحدة وحكومة كمبوديا الملكية بشأن المقاضاة بموجب القانون الكمبودي على الجرائم المرتكبة خلال فترة نظام كمبوتشيا الديمقراطية الوارد في مرفق هذا القرار؛

The agreement between the United Nations and the Government of Cambodia concerning the prosecution under the Cambodian law of crimes committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea was signed in Phnom Penh on 6 June 2003.
وقد تم التوقيع في فنوم بنه في 6 حزيران/يونيه 2003 على الاتفاق المعقود بين الأمم المتحدة وحكومة كمبوديا بشأن المحاكمات بموجب القانون الكمبودي فيما يتعلق بالجرائم التي ارتُكِبت خلال فترة نظام كمبوتشيا الديمقراطية.

The agreement between the United Nations and the Government of Cambodia concerning the prosecution under Cambodian law of crimes committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea was signed in Phnom Penh on 6 June 2003, following a process of negotiation that took several years.
69 - عقب مفاوضات استغرقت سنوات عديدة، وقعت الأمم المتحدة في 6 حزيران/يونيه 2003 مع الحكومة الكمبودية في بنوم بنه الاتفاقية المتعلقة بمحاكمة الجرائم المرتكبة خلال فترة نظام كمبوتشيا الديمقراطية بموجب القانون الكمبودي.

2. In its resolution 57/228 A on the Khmer Rouge trials, the General Assembly welcomed the efforts of the Secretary-General and the Government of Cambodia towards the establishment of Extraordinary Chambers within the existing courts structure of Cambodia, with international assistance, for the prosecution of crimes committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea.
2 - رحبت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 57/228 ألف المتعلق بمحاكمات الخمير الحمر، بجهود الأمين العام وحكومة كمبوديا المبذولة من أجل إنشاء دوائر استثنائية في إطار هيكل المحاكم القائم حاليا في كمبوديا، بمساعدة دولية، للمقاضاة على الجرائم المرتكبة خلال فترة نظام كمبوتشيا الديمقراطية.

65. The General Assembly, in its resolution 57/228 B, mandated the Secretary-General to conclude the Agreement between the United Nations and the Royal Government of Cambodia concerning the Prosecution under Cambodian Law of Crimes Committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea.
65 - وكلفت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 57/228 باء، الأمين العام بإبرام اتفاق بين الأمم المتحدة وحكومة كمبوديا الملكية بشأن المقاضاة بموجب القانون الكمبودي على الجرائم المرتكبة خلال فترة نظام كمبوتشيا الديمقراطية.

7. As noted in the Secretary-General's report of September 2012 (A/67/380), case 001 afforded an historic opportunity for the Cambodian people to witness justice being rendered for crimes committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea.

In my interim report of 3 December 2003 (A/58/617), Member States were given an interim account of the state of preparations for the entry into force of the Agreement between the United Nations and the Royal Government of Cambodia concerning the Prosecution under Cambodian Law of Crimes Committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea ( " the Agreement " ).

In early October 2004, the National Assembly and the Senate approved the Agreement, together with amendments to the Cambodian Law on the Establishment of Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia for the Prosecution of Crimes Committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea ( " the Law " ) aimed at bringing that Law into conformity with the Agreement.
