13. The following recommendations are put forward for consideration by the Economic and Social Council through the Commission for Social Development:

The present report provides a summary of the discussion that took place last year and puts forward a number of recommendations for further improving the methods of work of the Commission, for consideration by the Economic and Social Council, through the Commission for Social Development.

13. Taking into account the views expressed on reviewing the methods of work of the Commission during its forty-second session, the following recommendations are put forward for consideration by the Economic and Social Council through the Commission for Social Development:

Requests the Secretary-General to submit a report to the General Assembly at its seventy-first session, through the Commission for Social Development and the Economic and Social Council, on the implementation by Member States and United Nations system agencies and bodies of the objectives of the International Year and its follow-up processes;

Requests the SecretaryGeneral to submit a report to the General Assembly at its sixtysixth session, through the Commission for Social Development at its fortyninth session and the Economic and Social Council, on the implementation of the present resolution and on the appropriate ways and means to observe the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family, in 2014;

Requests the Secretary-General to submit a report to the General Assembly at its sixty-seventh session, through the Commission for Social Development and the Economic and Social Council, on the implementation of the present resolution, including a description of the state of preparation for the observance of the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family at all levels.

At its sixty-fourth session, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit a report to it at its sixty-sixth session, through the Commission for Social Development at its forty-ninth session and the Economic and Social Council, on the implementation of the resolution and on the appropriate ways and means to observe the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family, in 2014 (resolution 64/133).
