7. All the issues outlined above are described in the relevant chapters of the present report, which is submitted to the General Assembly, through the Committee on Conferences.

8. Trends in the control and limitation of documentation will be kept under review and, in accordance with paragraph 9 of General Assembly resolution 51/211 B, in 1998 the Secretary-General will submit to the Assembly, through the Committee on Conferences, updated information on the number and length of documents.

As a response to the General Assembly's request in resolution 56/242 that the Secretary-General take steps to remedy the late issuance of summary records, the Department proposes a study of the practical and cost implications of replacing summary records with such digital recordings and to report thereon through the Committee on Conferences.

In this connection, I should also like to draw the attention of members to operative paragraph 11 of the same resolution, in which the Secretary-General is requested to submit a report to the Assembly at its fifty-first session, through the Committee on Conferences and the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, on the implementation of the measures spelt out in the resolution, including information on possible savings.

Requests the Secretary-General to comply with paragraphs 33 to 36 of its resolution 53/208 A, and also requests the Secretary-General to submit to the Assembly at its fifty-sixth session, through the Committee on Conferences and the Advisory Committee, a report on possible measures to alleviate the excessive vacancy rates in language services at some duty stations and to ensure the required quality of conference services Secretariat-wide;
11 - تطلب إلى الأمين العام الامتثال لأحكام الفقرات من 33 إلى 36 من قرارها 53/208 ألف وتطلب أيضا إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إليها في دورتها السادسة والخمسين، من خلال لجنة المؤتمرات واللجنة الاستشارية، تقريرا عن التدابير الممكن اتخاذها للتخفيف من الارتفاع المفرط لمعدلات الشواغر في دوائر اللغات ببعض مراكز العمل وأن يكفل جودة خدمات المؤتمرات على نطاق الأمانة العامة؛

In paragraph 3 of its resolution 50/206 B of 23 December 1995, the General Assembly noted the intention of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space to replace its verbatim records by unedited transcripts, and requested the Committee to keep the Assembly informed, through the Committee on Conferences, of the experience of that body regarding unedited transcripts.
٨١ - لاحظت الجمعية العامـة، فــي الفقـرة ٣ مــن قرارها ٥٠/٢٠٦ باء المؤرخ ٢٣ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٥، اعتزام لجنـة استخدام الفضاء الخارجي فـي اﻷغراض السلمية الاستعاضة عــن محاضرها الحرفية بمستنسخات غير محررة، وطلبت إلى اللجنة أن تُبقي الجمعية العامة على علم، من خلال لجنة المؤتمرات بتجربتها فيما يتعلق باستخدام المستنسخات غير المحررة.

Requests the Secretary-General to develop as soon as possible a comprehensive and accurate cost-accounting system for conference services, to report on the progress of its implementation to the General Assembly through the Committee on Conferences and to report the results of its use to the Assembly through the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, in accordance with their respective mandates;
