In doing so, the evaluation examines, inter alia, the functioning, effectiveness and efficiency of the existing system-wide coordination mechanisms, in particular the Regional Coordination Mechanisms (RCM) of United Nations agencies and organizations working in Africa in support of the African Union (AU) and its NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa's Development) Programme, and issues pertaining to the Resident Coordinator system.
