The Sub-Commission then requested the SecretaryGeneral to submit a report on the situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-sixth session and to the Sub-Commission at its fifty-second session, and recommended that the Commission on Human Rights should consider the situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo at its next session.

INTRODUCTION In its resolution 2001/20, the Commission on Human Rights requested the High Commissioner for Human Rights to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to the Commission at its fifty-eighth session on the situation of human rights in Sierra Leone, including with reference to reports from the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL).

At the fifty-seventh session of the Commission on Human Rights, the Chairperson of the Commission issued a statement on the situation of human rights in East Timor in which the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights was requested to submit an interim report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to report to the Commission at its fiftyeighth session.

1. By its resolution 55/108 of 4 December 2000, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-seventh session a comprehensive report on the implementation of the various provisions of that resolution.

At its fifty-seventh session, the Commission on Human Rights requested the Special Rapporteur to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to the Commission at its fifty-eighth session; and requested the Secretary-General to bring the resolution to the attention of all relevant parts of the United Nations system (resolution 2001/15).

At its fifty-seventh session, the Commission on Human Rights decided to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for one year and requested the Special Rapporteur to report on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to the Commission at its fifty-eighth session (resolution 2001/13).
وقررت لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السابعة والخمسين تمديد ولاية المقرر الخاص عاما واحدا، وطلبت إليه أن يقدم تقريرا عن حالة حقوق الإنسان في أفغانستان إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها السادسة والخمسين وإلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها الثامنة والخمسين (القرار 2001/13).

In paragraph 5 of the resolution, the Commission requested the Secretary-General (a) to bring the resolution to the attention of the Government of Israel and to call upon it to comply with its provisions; and (b) to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-eighth session on the results of his efforts in this regard.

In the statement made on behalf of the Commission by the Chairperson of the fifty-seventh session on 25 April 2001 (E/2001/23-E/CN.4/2001/167, para. 604), the Commission requested a new independent expert to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and to the Commission at its fiftyeighth session on developments in the situation of human rights and technical cooperation for human rights in Haiti.
