It pleases me to welcome his Excellency, Judge Adly Mansour, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of his Excellency's first participation in this important Arab summit, and I congratulate Egypt on its hosting of the next Arab summit.

To express its thanks and appreciation to His Excellency, President Mohamed Morsi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, for Egypt's willingness to make available a plot of land suitable for the construction of the new additional annex to the Secretariat-General of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

I wish to appeal to you to ensure that the Security Council is not diverted by this latest Sudanese diversionary tactic from the major responsibility that the Council is still required to discharge with regard to taking the most appropriate measures against the Khartoum Government for the assassination attempt it supported and masterminded against the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
