Operative paragraph 8 of the draft resolution refers to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management.

All States parties should accede to the Convention on Nuclear Safety, the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management and the Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources, which were valuable means of providing such assurances.

In addition to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, we have ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, the Convention on Nuclear Safety, the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management, and the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.

On 5 September 1997 in Vienna, the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management was adopted, as recommended by the participants in the Summit on Nuclear Safety and Security.

وأخيرا يناشد جميع الدول الأعضاء التي لم تبادر بعد إلى اتخاذ الخطوات اللازمة كي تصبح أطرافا في الاتفاقية المشتركة بشأن سلامة تصريف الوقود المستعمل وسلامة تصريف النفايات المشعة، إلى أن تفعل ذلك في أقرب وقت ممكن.

Noting the convening of the first Review Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management, to be held in Vienna from 3 to 14 November 2003,
وإذ تلاحظ الدعوة إلى عقد الاجتماع الاستعراضي الأول للأطراف المتعاقدة في الاتفاقية المشتركة بشأن سلامة تصريف الوقود المستعمل وسلامة تصريف النفايات المشعة، في فيينا، من 3 إلى 14 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2003،

Noting that the first Review Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management was convened in Vienna from 3 to 14 November 2003,

8. Appeals to all Member States that have not yet taken the necessary steps to become party to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management7 to do so as soon as possible;
8 - تناشد جميع الدول الأعضاء التي لم تبادر بعد إلى اتخاذ الخطوات اللازمة كي تصبح أطرافا في الاتفاقية المشتركة بشأن سلامة تصريف الوقود المستعمل وسلامة تصريف النفايات المشعة(7)، أن تفعل ذلك في أقرب وقت ممكن؛
