غير أنه إذا كان الموظف معينا تحت الاختبار أو معينا لمدة سنتين أو أكثر أو كان قد أكمل ما لا يقل عن سنتين من الخدمة المتصلة، تدفع الأمم المتحدة مصاريف سفره إلى المكان الذي يعتبر وطنه لأغراض إجازة زيارة الوطن بموجب القاعدة 105/3.

4. Rule 107.1, Official travel of staff members, subparagraph (c), is amended to clarify that on separation the Organization will pay the travel expenses of a staff member to the place of home leave if the staff member has a probationary appointment or an appointment of two years or longer or has completed two years of continuous service.

(c) Under subparagraph (a) (vi) above, the United Nations shall pay the travel expenses of a staff member to the place of recruitment or, if the staff member had a probationary appointment or an appointment for a period of two years or longer or had completed not less than two years of continuous service, to the place recognized as his or her home for the purpose of home leave under rule 105.3.

See resolution 53/221, sect. III, para. 5. To be eligible to be considered for promotion to the P-5 level, the requirement of two lateral moves is reduced to one only when a staff member has served in the Professional category at Nairobi or at a regional economic commission other than the Economic Commission for Europe for two years or longer, or when a staff member is applying for a P-5 position at those duty stations from another duty station
