1. In the context of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme, the issue of terrorism has been dealt with at the technical rather than at the political level.
١- في سياق برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة لمنع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، عولج موضوع اﻹرهاب على الصعيد الفني وليس على الصعيد السياسي.

In 1995-1996 the United Nations and the OAS strengthened regional cooperation within the context of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme and the OAS Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission.

Our delegations recognize that certain law of the sea issues and issues of the environment and sustainable development are interrelated. We recognize especially the important and related efforts in the context of the United Nations Environment Programme, Agenda 21 and the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, to which our delegations attach great importance.

The attention of the Commission is drawn to the Secretary-General's report on advisory services in the field of human rights, including the Voluntary Fund for Technical Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights (E/CN.4/1998/92), which contains detailed information regarding the activities undertaken in 1997 in the context of the United Nations programme of technical cooperation.
