1. Adopts the work plan of the Basel Convention Partnership Programme for 2007 - 2008 as contained in the annex to the present decision;

The post is essential to implementation of the work plan of the Basel Convention Partnership Programme 2004- - 2006.

At its eighth meeting, the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention adopted, in its decision VIII/5, a workplan of the Basel Convention Partnership Programme for the biennium 20072008.
1- اعتمد مؤتمر الأطراف في اتفاقية بازل في اجتماعه الثامن، في مقرره 8/5، خطة عمل لبرنامج شراكات اتفاقية بازل لفترة السنتين 2007- 2008.

Encourages Parties, signatories and stakeholders to participate in the partnerships contained in the Basel Convention Partnership Programme and to provide financial and in-kind support to the Partnership Programme and funding to the post of Senior Programme Officer for Partnerships and Resource Mobilization as a means to support and facilitate implementation of the Partnership Programme;
يشجّع الأطراف والموقّعين وأصحاب المصلحة على المشاركة في الشراكات الواردة في برنامج شراكات اتفاقية بازل وتوفير الدعم المالي والعيني لبرنامج الشراكات والتمويل لوظيفة مسؤول برامج أقدم للشراكات وتعبئة الموارد كوسيلة لدعم برنامج الشراكات وتيسير تنفيذه.

Under agenda item 3 (a) (iii), on the Basel Convention Partnership Programme:
(ب) في إطار البند 3 (أ) ' 3` من جدول الأعمال بشأن برنامج شراكات اتفاقية بازل:

1. Urges Parties and stakeholders to participate in the partnerships and join new initiatives in addition to providing financial and in-kind support to the Basel Convention Partnership Programme and to funding the post of Senior Programme Officer for Partnerships and Resource Mobilization as a means to support and facilitate implementation of the Partnership Programme;
1- يحث الأطراف وأصحاب المصلحة على المشاركة في الشراكات والانضمام إلى المبادرات الجديدة بالإضافة إلى توفير الدعم المالي والعيني لبرنامج شراكات اتفاقية بازل وتمويل وظيفة مسؤول برامج أقدم للشراكات وتعبئة الموارد كوسيلة لدعم برنامج الشراكات وتيسير تنفيذه؛

In considering the item, the Working Group had before it a note by the Secretariat on the progress of the Basel Convention Partnership Programme (UNEP/CHW/OEWG/6/18).
وكان معروضا على الفريق العامل لدى نظره في البند مذكرة من الأمانة عن التقدم المحقق في برنامج شراكات اتفاقية بازل (UNEP/CHW/OEWG/6/18).

5. Calls on Parties to facilitate the broader participation of civil society, including environmental non-governmental organizations, the private sector and, in particular, industry, to provide technical and financial support for the Basel Convention Partnership Programme and to become involved in specific activities at the regional, national and international levels.
