Regarding the status of ISAR, he underlined that it had existed before Midrand and that paragraph 115 of the “Partnership for Growth and Development” was open to different interpretations.

The " Midrand Declaration " and " A Partnership for Growth and Development " had given a new and well focused framework for the work of UNCTAD in the period ahead.

Its status in UNCTAD had been recognized in paragraph 115 of the “Partnership for Growth and Development”, and therefore the Commission could decide on its future sessions.

In accordance with paragraph 94 of “A Partnership for Growth and Development”, discussions are expected to take place with ITU on cooperation in assessing the practical trade implications of the emerging Global Information Infrastructure (GII) and identifying relevant avenues for action in this area.

10. The subject matter of the projects is in line with the contents of " A Partnership for Growth and Development " and in particular with the areas of focus mentioned in paragraph 97 thereof.
٠١- ويتمشى المجال اﻷساسي للمشاريع مع محتوى الجزء المعنون " شراكة من أجل تحقيق النمو والتنمية " وبصفة خاصة مع مجالات التركيز الوارد ذكرها في الفقرة ٩٧ من ذلك الجزء.

It urges the secretariat to continue to study international trade, monetary and financial issues as part of its work on interdependence with a development perspective as recognized by " A Partnership for Growth and Development " .
ويحث المجلس اﻷمانة على مواصلة دراسة التجارة الدولية والقضايا النقدية والمالية كجزء من عملها بشأن الترابط بمنظور إنمائي على نحو ما اعتُرف به في " شراكة من أجل تحقيق النمو والتنمية " .

32. Notes that the forthcoming South-South conference on finance, trade and investment, to be held at San José, Costa Rica, will provide an opportunity for developing countries to advance initiatives related to the document entitled " A Partnership for Growth and Development " , and invites the international community to support the initiative;
