This Act provides for full equality between men and women in the assumption of public office, employment, pay, training, promotion and leave in accordance with the provision of article 11. Application of the provisions of this Act have not, however, met the demands of women, particularly in regard to promotion, allowances, bonuses, training and further training;
ينص هذا القانون على المساواة التامة بين الرجل والمرأة في شغل الوظائف العامة والعمل وتقاضيها أجراً مساوياً للرجل والحصول على التأهيل والترقيات والإجازات وفقاً لما جاء في المادة 11 إلا أن التطبيقات لنصوص هذا القانون لا تجد طريقها إلى توفير مطالب المرأة لا سيما فيما يتعلق بفرص الترقي والعلاوات والمكافآت والتدريب والتأهيل؛

However, naturalized citizens of Qatar do not enjoy the same rights as Qataris in regard to access to public office or other types of employment until 5 years after the date of their naturalization, and they are not entitled to exercise the right to vote or stand as a candidate for election or appointment to membership of any parliamentary body until 10 years after the date of their naturalization.
غير أن المتجنس بالجنسية القطرية لا يتساوى مع القطري في حق شغل الوظائف العامة أو العمل عموماً إلا بعد مضي 5 سنوات على تجنسه، ولا يجوز له ممارسة حق الانتخاب أو الترشيح أو التعيين عضواً في أي هيئة نيابية قبل انقضاء عشر سنوات من تاريخ التجنس.
