302. In the light of articles 19 and 39 of the Convention, the Committee recommends that the State party ensure that all forms of physical and mental violence, including corporal punishment and sexual abuse, against children in the family, in schools and in care institutions are prohibited.

While welcoming the numerous initiatives to tackle violence against children in the family, schools and sports, the Committee remains concerned at the lack of comprehensive data and information on child abuse and/or neglect.

362. The Committee recommends that the State party take action to address illtreatment and abuse committed against children in the family, in schools, in the streets, in institutions and in places of detention through, inter alia:

41. Violence against children in the family may frequently take place in the context of discipline and takes the form of physical, cruel or humiliating punishment.
41 - وقد يحدث العنف الذي يُمارس ضد الأطفال في الأسرة في سياق التأديب في كثير من الحالات، ويتخذ شكل العقاب البدني أو العقوبة القاسية أو المهينة(26).

67. Mr. Ashiki (Japan) said that his delegation welcomed the ongoing study of the independent expert and wished to convey its concern at the fact that violence against children in the family and at school was increasing.
67- السيد أشيكي (اليابان): قال إن وفده يرحب بدراسة الخبير المستقل الحالية، وأعرب عن قلقه إزاء حقيقة أن العنف ضد الأطفال في الأسرة والمدرسة آخذ في الازدياد.

Governments must be encouraged to commit themselves to the objectives established by the Secretary-General: actively mobilizing political leaders and the appropriate resources, eliminating gender differences and discrimination, educating girls living in crisis situations (during and after conflict) and combating violence against children in the family and at school.
