In formulating the action plan on the rights of women, the State party should address the problem of double discrimination against women belonging to ethnic minorities as well as their lack of political representation in Ecuador, in line with the Committee's General Recommendation XXV on gender-related dimensions of racial discrimination.

The Committee draws the attention of the State party to its general recommendation 25 on gender-related dimensions of racial discrimination and recommends that it assess the extent of discrimination against women belonging to ethnic minorities and that it provide information on this issue in the next periodic report.

The Committee, recalling its general recommendation No. 25 (2000) on gender-related dimensions of racial discrimination, encourages the State party to monitor and, if necessary, take measures with regard to addressing multiple discrimination against women belonging to minority and other vulnerable groups.

Please provide detailed information on measures, including temporary special measures, taken to eliminate multiple forms of discrimination against women belonging to disadvantaged groups, including minority women, migrant women, internally displaced women, rural women, older women, women with disabilities and Roma women, in political and public life and in the areas of education, employment and health.
18- يرجى تقديم معلومات مفصلة عن التدابير التي اتُخِذت، بما فيها التدابير المؤقتة والخاصة، في مجالات الحياة السياسية والعامة والتعليم والعمالة والصحة، من أجل القضاء على الأشكال المتعددة للتمييز ضد النساء المنتميات إلى الفئات المحرومة، بمن فيهن نساء الأقليات والمهاجرات والمشردات داخلياً ونساء الأرياف والمسنات والمعوقات ونساء الروما.

The Committee recommends that the State party take all appropriate measures - including temporary special measures, where needed - to combat all forms of discrimination against women belonging to racial, ethnic and national minorities who live in ZUS areas, in particular single mothers, so as to ensure their equal access to employment, social security and social services, housing, health and education.
