ويعرب وفدا حكومة جمهورية طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة عن خالص تقديرها للممثل الخاص لﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة في طاجيكستان لما بذله من جهود في سبيل كفالة تقدم المحادثات.

They welcomed the intensified contacts between the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition, which helped contain the recent crisis and confirmed the commitment of both parties to the peace process.

2. Since early December, the Government of Tajikistan and the UTO have made progress in their negotiations.

Welcoming further the intensified regular contacts between the leaderships of the Government of Tajikistan and the UTO which helped to contain the crises in the period covered by the report of the Secretary-General, confirmed the commitment of both parties to the peace process and contributed to the implementation of the General Agreement,

After three years of negotiations held under United Nations auspices, on 27 June 1997 a peace agreement was signed between the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition.
وفي 27 حزيران/يونيه 1997، وبعد ثلاث سنوات من المحادثات تحت رعاية منظمة الأمم المتحدة، تم التوقيع على اتفاق سلام بين حكومة جمهورية طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة.

In that resolution, expressing its deep concern at the impact of the conflict on the humanitarian situation and on the social and economic infrastructure of Tajikistan, the General Assembly urged the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition (UTO) to continue their efforts to solve the conflict peacefully.
وقد أعربت الجمعية العامة في ذلك القرار عن بالغ قلقها إزاء اﻷثر الذي يتركه النزاع على الحالة اﻹنسانية وعلى الهياكل اﻷساسية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية لطاجيكستان، وحثت حكومة طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة على مواصلة جهودهما لحل النزاع حلا سلميا.

2. During the reporting period, the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition (UTO) made good progress in the implementation of key provisions of the General Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and National Accord in Tajikistan.
2 - خلال الفترة التي يغطيها التقرير، أحرزت حكومة طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة تقدما طيبا في تنفيذ البنود الرئيسية في الاتفاق العام لإقامة السلام والوفاق الوطني في طاجيكستان[S/1997/510، المرفق الأول].

My Special Representative for Tajikistan is the Coordinator of the Contact Group of Guarantor States and International Organizations, established under the General Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and National Accord between the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition of 27 June 1997.

12. While the measures provided for in the present Protocol are being implemented, the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition shall comply strictly with the provisions of the Tehran agreement and prevent any attempts to destabilize the situation in Tajikistan.
١٢ - تقوم حكومة طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة في أثناء تنفيذ التدابير المنصوص عليها في هذا البروتوكول، بالامتثال ﻷحكام اتفاق طهران بدقة والحيلولة دون أي محاولات لزعزعة استقرار الحالة في طاجيكستان.

2. Welcomes also the serious efforts made by the Government of Tajikistan and the United Tajik Opposition to carry out their commitments under the General Agreement and the progress achieved in the activities of the Commission on National Reconciliation, the exchange of prisoners of war and detainees, the registration of the fighters of the United Tajik Opposition inside Tajikistan and the repatriation of refugees from Afghanistan;
٢ - يرحب أيضا بالجهود الجادة التي تبذلها حكومة طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة لتنفيذ التزاماتهما بمقتضى الاتفاق العام وبالتقدم المحـرز فـي أنشطــة لجنــة المصالحـة الوطنية وبتبادل أسرى الحرب والمحتجزين وبتسجيل مقاتلي المعارضــة الطاجيكيــة الموحــدة الموجودين في طاجيكستان وبإعادة اللاجئين مـن أفغانستان إلى وطنهم؛

2. Welcomes also the serious efforts made by the Government of Tajikistan and the UTO to carry out their commitments under the General Agreement and the progress achieved in the activities of the Commission on National Reconciliation (CNR), the exchange of prisoners of war and detainees, the registration of UTO fighters inside Tajikistan and the repatriation of refugees from Afghanistan;
٢ - يرحب أيضا بالجهود الجادة التي تبذلها حكومة طاجيكستان والمعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة لتنفيذ التزاماتهما بمقتضى الاتفاق العام وبالتقدم المحرز في أنشطة لجنة المصالحة الوطنية وبتبادل أسرى الحرب والمحتجزين وبتسجيل مقاتلي المعارضة الطاجيكية الموحدة الموجودين في طاجيكستان وبإعادة اللاجئين من أفغانستان إلى وطنهم؛

9. The ceasefire between the Government of Tajikistan and UTO has generally held.
