5. " Abandoned cluster munition " means cluster munition that has not been used during an armed conflict and that has been left behind or dumped by a party to an armed conflict, and which is no longer under the control of the party that left it behind or dumped it.
5- يُقصد ﺑ " الذخائر العنقودية المتروكة " الذخائر العنقودية التي لم تستخدم في أثناء نزاع مسلح، وتركها أو ألقاها طرف في نزاع مسلح ولم تعد خاضعة لسيطرة الطرف الذي تركها أو ألقاها.

(6) It cannot be assumed that the effect of armed conflict between Parties to the same treaty would be the same as its effect on treaties between a party to an armed conflict and a third State.
6 - ولا يمكن افتراض أن أثر النزاع المسلح بين الدول الأطراف في نفس المعاهدة سيكون مماثلاً لأثره على المعاهدات بين دولة طرف في نزاع مسلح ودولة ثالثة.

1. In implementing this Protocol, each High Contracting Party and party to an armed conflict shall ensure full compliance with all applicable principles and rules of international humanitarian law.
1- لدى تنفيذ هذا البروتوكول، يكفل كل طرف من الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية وكل طرف في نزاع مسلح الامتثال التام لجميع مبادئ وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي.

(c) Regarding the use of land-mines and like devices, there is a need to establish a clear prohibition on deploying and using such weapons against internally displaced persons by any party to an armed conflict of any kind;

In addition to a clear legal obligation on States to " respect and ensure respect " for international humanitarian law within their own domestic context, third States are bound by a negative legal obligation to neither encourage a party to an armed conflict to violate international humanitarian law nor to take action that would assist in such violations.
