7. At the final meeting of its special session on children, held in New York from 4 to 10 May 2002, the General Assembly adopted the outcome document, entitled " A world fit for children " which contains a Declaration and a Plan of Action.
7 - اعتمدت الجمعية العامة في الجلسة الختامية من دورتها الاستثنائية المعنية بالطفل المعقودة في نيويورك في الفترة من 4 إلى 10 أيار/مايو 2002 الوثيقة الختامية المعنونة " عالم صالح للطفل " والتي تتضمن إعلانا وخطة عمل.

Related to this, and as also envisaged by the Plan of Action of " A world fit for children " , countries may wish to develop closer linkages between the mechanisms they have already established for monitoring and reporting on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the follow-up to the special session.

28. The SADC member States had integrated the commitments of the Declaration and Plan of Action entitled " A world fit for children " into the existing national plans and poverty reduction strategies and had made considerable progress in improving the lives of children.

The goals of " A world fit for children " are also firmly grounded in the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS (resolution S26/2, annex), adopted at the twenty-sixth special session of the General Assembly on HIV/AIDS.

The goals of " A world fit for children " are also firmly reiterated in the 2005 World Summit outcome (General Assembly resolution 60/1) and the outcome of the 2006 High-Level Meeting on AIDS (resolution 60/262, annex).

385. The Committee encourages the State party to increase its efforts to develop and implement, using a participatory approach, a comprehensive National Plan of Action for the full implementation of the Convention, incorporating the objectives and goals of the outcome document " A world fit for children " adopted by the General Assembly at its special session on children, held in 2002.

(a) Take necessary steps to either supplement the existing National Plan of Action, or consider drafting a new, comprehensive Plan to include the Millennium Development Goals and reflect the conclusions contained in " A world fit for children " , and to involve agencies of the United Nations system, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and donor countries, as well as children, in these efforts;
