The three delegations favoured the strengthening of the Office of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus, and trusted that, with his additional resources, the Special Adviser would be in a position to provide effective support for both sides to reach a satisfactory solution, moving towards a bi-zonal, bicommunal federation with political equality, as defined by relevant Security Council resolutions.

There is an established understanding at the negotiations between the two sides, including the most recent process, that issues related to the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas of the island of Cyprus will be left to the discretion of the new partnership government, where Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots will share power on the basis of political equality.

This fact, coupled with the omission of even a passing reference to a bicommunal, bizonal federation based on the political equality of the two sides, once more demonstrates how far the Greek Cypriot side is from a just and lasting settlement.
وهذه الحقيقة، إلى جانب إسقاط أي إشارة عابرة إلى اتحاد ثنائي الطائفة وثنائي المنطقة يقوم على أساس المساواة السياسية بين الجانبين، يُظهران مرة أخرى مدى بُعد الجانب القبرصي اليوناني عن تسوية عادلة ودائمة.

Meanwhile, Greece and the Greek Cypriot side would be well advised to stop spreading false propaganda against Turkey and the Turkish Cypriot side and focus on the negotiating process aimed at the establishment of a bi-communal, bi-zonal federation in the island, based on the political equality of the two communities.
وفي اﻷثناء، فإن من مصلحة اليونان والجانب القبرصي اليوناني التوقف عن بث الدعاية الكاذبة ضد تركيا والجانب القبرصي التركي، والتركيز على عملية التفاوض الرامية الى إنشاء اتحاد من طائفتين ومن منطقتين في الجزيرة، على أساس المساواة السياسية بين الطائفتين.
