In its resolution 49/38 B of 9 December 1994, the General Assembly encouraged the Secretary-General to explore ways and means to improve the access of United Nations radio to airwaves worldwide, bearing in mind that radio is one of the most cost-effective and far-reaching media available to the Department of Public Information.
١ - شجعت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٩٤/٨٣ باء، المؤرخ ٩ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ٤٩٩١ اﻷمين العام على استكشاف الطرق والوسائل الكفيلة بتحسين إمكانية استخدام إذاعة اﻷمم المتحدة للموجات اﻹذاعية في العالم كله، مع مراعاة أن اﻹذاعة من أكثر وسائط اﻹعلام المتاحة ﻹدارة شؤون اﻹعلام فعالية من حيث التكلفة والتغطية.

19. 28. In the annex to Commission resolution 34/1, which contained the United Nations Declaration of Intent on Youth: Problems and Potential (see E/1995/24), concerned bodies and agencies of the United Nations system were urged to explore ways and means of achieving greater coherence in data collection and the publication of statistics.
