To eradicate the scourge of piracy and armed robbery against ships currently plaguing the waters of South-East Asia, 16 countries have adopted a Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia.
ولاستئصال آفة القرصنة والسطو المسلح على السفن، التي تبتلى بها حالياً مياه جنوب شرق آسيا، اعتمد 16 بلداً اتفاق تعاون إقليمي بشأن مكافحة القرصنة والسطو المسلح على السفن في آسيا.

On 4 September 2006, the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia entered into force.
وفي 4 أيلول/سبتمبر 2006، دخل اتفاق التعاون الإقليمي المتعلق بالقرصنة والسطو المسلح على السفن في آسيا حيز النفاذ.

It had participated actively and constructively in the negotiation of the ASEAN Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia, to which it was a party.
وقد شاركت بنشاط وبشكل بنّاء في مفاوضات معاهدة رابطة أمم جنوب شرق آسيا المتعلقة بالمساعدة القانونية المتبادلة في المسائل الإجرامية، واتفاق التعاون الإقليمي لمكافحة القرصنة والسطو المسلح على السفن في آسيا وهي عضو في هذا الاتفاق.

In that respect, we welcome the regional efforts made in the context of establishing cooperative mechanisms on safety of navigation and environmental protection and particularly welcome the coming into force on 4 September 2006 of the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia and the launch of its information-sharing centre.
وفي ذلك الصدد، نرحب بالجهود الإقليمية التي تُبذل في سياق إنشاء آليات تعاونية بشأن سلامة الملاحة وحماية البيئة ونرحب خاصة بدخول اتفاق التعاون الإقليمي المتعلق بالقرصنة والسطو المسلح على السفن في آسيا حيز النفاذ في 4 أيلول/سبتمبر 2006 وببدء عمل مركزه لتبادل المعلومات.

At the regional level, in Asia, 14 States have been cooperating through the 2004 Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia; and Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand have been cooperating in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore through the Malacca Straits Patrols.

The efforts of the States bordering the Straits and those of other States in the Asian region to prevent and combat acts of piracy and armed robbery against Ships in Asia will be strengthened by the entry into force on 4 September 2006 of the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia of 2004.

NOTING with appreciation the entry into force of the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (hereinafter referred to as " ReCAAP " ) on 4 September 2006, which will lead to the launch of the ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (hereinafter referred to as " the Centre " ) in Singapore in November 2006, as well as the indication of preparedness of Indonesia and Malaysia to cooperate with the Centre,
