This note is presented pursuant to section II, paragraph 11, of General Assembly resolution 52/220 of 22 December 1997, in which the Secretary-General was requested to present a report on the impact of the implementation of pilot projects on the budgetary practices and procedures as well as on the Financial Regulations and Rules of the United Nations.

With regard to the document entitled “The impact of the implementation of pilot projects on budgetary practices and procedures” [A/52/852], the European Union welcomes the clarification provided by the Secretary-General in this report.

We are therefore ready to engage, in a spirit of cooperation and partnership, in further discussions in the Second Committee on the report on core resources for development, and in the Fifth Committee on the Revolving Credit Fund, on the utilization of the Development Account and on the impact of implementation of pilot projects on budgetary practices and procedures.

11. At the 51st meeting, on 19 March, the Chairman orally proposed a draft decision concerning the impact of the implementation of pilot projects on budgetary practices and procedures.

124. The Advisory Committee has also considered the report of the Secretary-General on the impact of the implementation of pilot projects on budgetary practices and procedures (A/53/947).
٤٢١ - ونظرت اللجنة الاستشارية أيضا في تقرير اﻷمين العام عن أثر تنفيذ المشاريع الرائدة على الممارسات واﻹجراءات المتعلقة بالميزانية )749/35/A(.

11. Decides to consider the impact of the implementation of pilot projects on the budgetary practices and procedures as well as on the Financial Regulations and Rules of the United Nations, prior to their implementation, and requests the Secretary-General to submit a comprehensive report on this matter through the Advisory Committee to the General Assembly at the first part of its resumed fifty-second session;
١١ - تقرر أن تنظر فيما يترتب على تنفيذ المشاريع الرائدة من آثار على الممارسات واﻹجراءات المتعلقة بالميزانية وكذلك على النظام المالي والقواعد المالية لﻷمم المتحدة، قبل تنفيذ هذه المشاريع، وتطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا شاملا عن هذه المسألة عن طريق اللجنة الاستشارية إلى الجمعية العامة في الجزء اﻷول من دورتها الثانية والخمسين المستأنفة؛
