The following summary of the discussions was presented by the Chairman to the International Cooperation Workshop on Technical Assistance for the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, held in Montevideo from 30 May to 1 June 2007.

The Office has supported SADC member States in strengthening their capacity to implement the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the Convention.

The Centre for International Crime Prevention (CICP) organized in November 2002, in Paris, an Expert Meeting on the Development of a Legislation Guide to Promote the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocols.

It also reviews the implications of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa for the integrated planning and management of land resources in the affected countries.
وهو يستعرض أيضا الآثار المترتبة على تنفيذ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر في البلدان التي تعاني من الجفاف الشديد و/أو التصحر وبخاصة في أفريقيا بالنسبة للتخطيط والإدارة المتكاملين لموارد الأرض في البلدان المتضررة.

The Foundation was carrying out high-quality work and delivering training on the Implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa; the Centre had also been mandated to implement regional activities relating to the Convention, in close cooperation with the Environment and Land Management Sector of SADC.
