منذ بداية الأزمة السورية، سعت الدول الشريكة في التآمر على سوريا، وفي مقدمتها الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وفرنسا وتركيا والسعودية وقطر، إلى خلق الذرائع من أجل تبرير الاستمرار بالعدوان على سوريا.

Furthermore, the imposition by some States of unilateral economic sanctions against Syria had significantly worsened the living conditions of both the Palestine refugees and Syrian nationals.
علاوة على ذلك، فإن بعض الدول فرضت عقوبات اقتصادية أحادية الجانب على سوريا. وهذه العقوبات لم تؤثر سلبا على حياة الشعب السوري فحسب، بل أثرت على حياة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في سوريا.

That applies especially to Syria and Lebanon, but also to Iran and even Iraq.

فما أن تفرض دولة من تلك الدول العقوبات على سوريا حتى تتوالى العقوبات القسرية الأحادية ضد الشعب السوري ولقمة عيشه وتنميته وتقدمه ممن يدورون في فلك تلك الدولة، فيستخدمون نفس العبارات والأسماء بل ويقعون في نفس الأخطاء اللغوية أيضاً.

We reaffirm that, if the international community wishes to play a positive role in Lebanon, it must act swiftly to put an end to the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territory, which would bolster Lebanon's security and independence, and as a result, have a positive impact on Syria and the entire region.
نؤكد مجددا أنه يجب على المجتمع الدولي، إذا أراد أن يلعب دورا إيجابيا في الساحة اللبنانية، العمل السريع لإنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للأراضي اللبنانية، الأمر الذي من شأنه أن يدعم أمن واستقرار لبنان وانعكاس ذلك إيجابيا على سوريا والمنطقة كلها.

What is taking place verifies Syria's claim that it is being subjected to terrorist campaigns that are supported and financed from abroad and being forced on Syria and the Syrian people. Even worse, the blood of the Syrian people is being sacrificed in media campaigns that attempt to hold responsible for those crimes the Syrian Government, which is making every effort to protect its people from terrorism.
إن ما جرى يؤكد صدقية ما كانت سوريا تنادي به من تعرضها لحملات إرهاب مدعوم وممول من الخارج تسعى دول بعينها فرضه على سوريا وعلى شعبها، ومما يزيد من بشاعة ما يجري هو ذهاب دماء الشهداء السوريين ضحايا لحملات إعلامية تحاول أن تلصق الجرائم بالحكومة السورية التي تبذل جهود مضنية لحماية شعبها من الإرهاب.

The US should reverse course. A direct US attack on Syria without UN backing is far more likely to inflame the region than it is to resolve the crisis there – a point well appreciated in the United Kingdom, where Parliament bucked the government by rejecting British participation in a military strike.
