)أ( يترك لرئيس اﻷمانة المؤقتة إمكانية استخدام الصندوق الخاص للتبرعات المنشأ عملاً بقرار الجمعية العامة ٧٤/٨٨١، للقيام، حسب الاقتضاء، بمساعدة البلدان المتأثرة بالتصحر والجفاف، ولا سيما أقل البلدان نموا، على المشاركة على نحو كامل وفعال في مؤتمر اﻷطراف اﻷول؛

1. In paragraph 20 of its resolution 47/189, the General Assembly decided to establish a voluntary fund for the purpose of assisting small island developing States and the least developed countries to participate fully and effectively in the first Global Conference on the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States and its preparatory process, and invited Governments to contribute to the fund.
١ - قررت الجمعية العامة، في الفقرة ٢٠ من قرارها ٤٧/١٨٩، أن تنشئ صندوقا للتبرعات لغرض مساعدة الدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية وأقل البلدان نموا على المشاركة على نحو كامل وفعال في المؤتمر العالمي اﻷول المعني بالتنمية المستدامة للدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية وفي العملية التحضيرية له، ودعت الحكومات الى المساهمة في الصندوق.
