At the UNCTAD level, through more inter-divisional cooperation, the integrated approach will provide for delivery of holistic and multidisciplinary technical cooperation and capacity development in UNCTAD's areas of expertise. This will provide more coherence in UNCTAD's operation and lessen the incidence of fragmented interventions; and

The representative of Benin, speaking on behalf of the least developed countries, noted with satisfaction that more than half of UNCTAD operations were implemented at the interregional level, thus allowing all developing countries to benefit from UNCTAD's support.
16- وتكلم ممثل بنن نيابة عن أقل البلدان نمواً فلاحظ بعين الرضا أن أكثر من نصف عمليات الأونكتاد ينفذ على المستوى الأقاليمي مما يتيح للبلدان النامية كافة الاستفادة من دعم الأونكتاد.

Indeed, the reaffirmation of UNCTAD's role as " the focal point of the UN system for the integrated treatment of trade and development " is relevant in relation with the MDGs: UNCTAD operations provide substantive inputs in terms of integrating and ensuring synergies among the various economic components of developing countries' strategies.
بل إن إعادة تأكيد دور الأونكتاد بوصفه " جهة الوصل ضمن منظومة الأمم المتحدة فيما يتعلق بالمعالجة المتكاملة لقضايا التجارة والتنمية " يتناسب مع الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية: تقدم عمليات الأونكتاد إسهامات موضوعية في مجال إدماج وكفالة أوجه التآزر بين مختلف المكونات الاقتصادية لاستراتيجيات البلدان النامية.

(c) Urges both donors and beneficiaries of the United Nations country-based development assistance plans to provide support, including adequate financial resources, in view of the inclusion of UNCTAD's operations in the national development plans;
