Article 26, paragraphs 2 and 3, encourages States parties to consider mitigating the sentence or granting immunity from prosecution to persons who cooperate with the authorities in the investigation or prosecution of organized crime.
وتشجّع الفقرتان 2 و3 من المادة 26 الدول الأطراف على النظر في منح تخفيف للعقوبة أو منح الحصانة من الملاحقة القضائية للأشخاص الذين يتعاونون مع السلطات في عمليات التحقيق أو الملاحقة القضائية للجريمة المنظمة.

1. A person who is being detained or is serving a sentence in the territory of one State Party whose presence in another State Party is requested for purposes of identification, testimony or otherwise providing assistance in obtaining evidence for the investigation or prosecution of offences under this Convention may be transferred if the following conditions are met:
١ - يجوز نقل أي شخص محتجز أو يقضي عقوبته في إقليم دولة طرف ومطلوب وجوده في دولة أخرى من الدول اﻷطراف ﻷغراض تحديد الهوية أو الشهادة أو المساعدة في إثبات الوقائع في إطار عمليات التحقيق أو المحاكمة بموجب هذه الاتفاقية، إذا استوفي الشرطان التاليان:

While it is recognised that the work plan is a dynamic tool, which may be modified and updated, it is submitted that part of the available resources could well be set aside to cover high-priority ad hoc / unplanned engagements such as investigations or critical senior management requests occurring during the year.
ومع الإقرار بأن خطة العمل أداة دينامية يمكن تعديلها وتحديثها، نرى أنه سيكون من المفيد احتجاز جزء من الموارد المتاحة واستخدامها لتغطية تكاليف المهام الخاصة غير المخطط لها وذات الأولوية العالية، مثل عمليات التحقيق أو تلبية الطلبات ذات الأهمية الحاسمة التي تقدمها الإدارة العليا أثناء السنة.

17. The Committee, while noting some improvement in witness protection in criminal proceedings, remains gravely concerned at the lack of adequate measures of witness protection and witness support before, during and after trials, which has a negative impact on the willingness and ability of witnesses to participate in investigations or to testify in proceedings.
17- تأخذ اللجنة علماً ببعض التحسينات التي أدخلت على إجراءات حماية الشهود في المحاكمات الجنائية، إلا أنها لا تزال تشعر في نفس الوقت بقلق بالغ إزاء انعدام التدابير الكافية لحماية الشهود ودعمهم قبل المحاكمات وأثناءها وبعدها، وهو أمر له أثر سلبي على رغبة الشهود في المشاركة في عمليات التحقيق أو تقديم الشهادة في المحاكمات واستعدادهم لذلك.
