6. Encourages the Governments of Chad and the Central African Republic to continue to cooperate with the United Nations and the European Union to facilitate the smooth transition from EUFOR Chad/Central African Republic to the United Nations military component;
6 - يشجع حكومتـي تشاد وجمهورية أفريقيا الوسطى على مواصلة التعاون مع الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي لتيسير الانتقال السلس من عملية الاتحاد الأوروبي في تشاد وجمهورية أفريقيا الوسطى إلى العنصر العسكري للأمم المتحدة؛

Welcoming the letter dated 6 January 2009 from the President of Chad and the letter dated 5 December 2008 from the President of the Central African Republic regarding the deployment of a military component of the Mission in both countries to follow up EUFOR Chad/Central African Republic at the end of its mandate,

23. The broad acknowledgement of the EUFOR contribution to a safe and secure environment both by the local populations in the area and by the international actors working in the area has underpinned a feeling of a new sense of confidence among the various actors in the area of operations.
23 - لقد كان اعتراف السكان المحليين في المنطقة والجهات الفاعلة الدولية التي تعمل في المنطقة اعترافا واسعا بمساهمة عملية الاتحاد الأوروبي في تهيئة بيئة أمان وأمن سندا أساسيا لنشوء شعور بإحساس جديد بالثقة بين مختلف الأطراف الفاعلة في منطقة العمليات.

Subsequently, in its resolution 1861 (2009), the Council authorized the deployment of a military component of MINURCAT comprising 5,200 military personnel to follow up EUFOR in both the Central African Republic and Chad, and decided that the transfer of authority between EUFOR and the military component of MINURCAT would take place on 15 March 2009.

11. There has been further progress in the area of joint military affairs: on 19 November, EUFOR handed responsibility to the Bosnia and Herzegovina authorities for the last task in that area, civilian movement control (the control of movement of weapons and military equipment).
