2. Since the inception of the KPCS in 2000, there has been a dramatic improvement in the security situation in several diamond-producing countries to which the Process contributed significantly.
2 - منذ إنشاء نظام عملية كيمبرلي لإصدار شهادات المنشأ في عام 2000، حدث تحسُّن هائل في الحالة الأمنية بعدة بلدان منتجة للماس ساهمت فيه إلى حد كبير عملية كيمبرلي.

The new consultant's role will be to develop processes and systems to sustain the Certification Scheme in Liberia and ensure its long-term durability and compliance with it.

6. Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 66/252, the Process has continued monitoring progress in the implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in West Africa and the Working Group of Diamond Experts has continued its work on footprinting in the region.

While the Panel has found no evidence that Liberian diamond production is being used to finance conflict, what is clear is that the credibility of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in Liberia is seriously undermined and this requires urgent action by Government and the international community to rectify the current situation.
