44. On 16 June, the Special Representative briefed the Council on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire.

The Government of Côte d'Ivoire therefore takes note of the statement to the press today by the President of the Security Council on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, a statement that our Government considers as a step forward to finding a rapid solution to the crisis.
ولذلك تحيط حكومة كوت ديفوار علما ببيان رئيس مجلس الأمن اليوم إلى الصحافة عن الحالة في كوت ديفوار، وهو بيان تعتبره حكومتنا خطوة إلى الأمام في سبيل إيجاد حل سريع للأزمة.

In addition, the Security Council adopted four presidential statements: on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, the situation in Guinea-Bissau, the situation in Somalia, and the institutional relationship with the African Union.

In a private meeting on 31 August, the Minister of Defense of South Africa, Mosiuoa Lekota, representing the African Union Mediation, briefed the Council on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire.

The present report is submitted pursuant to Security Council resolution 1528 (2004) of 27 February 2004, by which the Council requested me to report to it every three months on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, the implementation of the Linas-Marcoussis Agreement and the implementation of the mandate of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (ONUCI).

On 22 October, the Council held a debate, followed by consultations, on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, during which the Principal Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), Abou Moussa, briefed the Council on the latest developments in that country, including the status of implementation of key steps in the peace process.
في 22 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر، عقد المجلس اجتماع مناقشة، تلته مشاورات، عن الحالة في كوت ديفوار، قدم خلاله النائب الرئيسي للممثل الخاص للأمين العام لعملية الأمم المتحدة في كوت ديفوار، أبو موسى، إحاطة إلى المجلس عن آخر التطورات التي شهدها ذلك البلد، بما في ذلك حالة تنفيذ الخطوات الأساسية في عملية السلام.

On the same day, at a public meeting, the Council was briefed on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire by the Special Representative, who presented the report of the Secretary-General (S/2009/21).

In paragraph 18 of resolution 1962 (2010), the Security Council requested me to provide to it a full report no later than 31 May 2011 on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, including recommendations on possible adjustments in the structure and strength of UNOCI.
ففي الفقرة 18 من القرار 1962 (2010)، طلب إلي مجلس الأمن أن أقدم له تقريرا كاملا في موعد أقصاه 31 أيار/مايو 2011 عن الحالة في كوت ديفوار، يتضمن توصيات بشأن التعديلات التي يمكن إدخالها على هيكل وقوام عملية الأمم المتحدة في كوت ديفوار.

It was found that the security situation has deteriorated since the last assessment was conducted in February 2012, and more recently since my report of 29 June 2012 on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire (S/2012/506), which informed the consultations of the Council leading to the adoption of resolution 2062 (2012).
وكان الاستنتاج هو أن الوضع الأمني قد تدهور منذ إجراء التقييم الأخير في شباط/فبراير 2012، وفي الآونة غير البعيدة منذ صدور تقريري المؤرخ 29 حزيران/يونيه 2012 عن الحالة في كوت ديفوار (S/2012/506)، الذي استرشدت به مشاورات مجلس الأمن التي أفضت إلى اتخاذ القرار 2062 (2012).
