The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions has considered the reports of the Secretary-General on the support account for peace-keeping operations (A/48/470, paras. 8-14 and A/48/470/Add.1).

1. The General Assembly, having considered the report of the Secretary-General on the support account for peace-keeping operations (A/48/470/Add.1) and the related report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (A/48/955), adopted resolution 48/226 C of 29 July 1994 in which, inter alia, it:
١ - بعد أن نظرت الجمعية العامة في تقرير اﻷمين العام عن حساب الدعم لعمليات حفظ السلم (A/48/470/Add.1) وتقرير اللجنة الاستشارية لشؤون اﻹدارة والميزانية المتصل به (A/48/955) اتخذت القرار ٤٨/٢٢٦ جيم المؤرخ ٢٩ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤، الذي شمل جملة أمور منها أن الجمعية:

In his report on the support account for peace-keeping operations, 2/ the Secretary-General noted that 116 reports on peace-keeping operations totalling 1,380 pages were processed for the Security Council in 1993, and around 140 reports on financing were presented to the General Assembly for consideration by the Fifth Committee.
٢١ - وقد لاحظ اﻷمين العام، في تقريره عن حساب الدعم لعمليات حفظ السلم)٢( أنه قد تم إعداد ١١٦ تقريرا عن عمليات حفظ السلم يبلغ مجموع صفحاتها ٣٨٠ ١ صفحة لمجلس اﻷمن في عام ١٩٩٣، وجرى تقديم نحو ١٤٠ تقريرا عن التمويل إلى الجمعية العامة لتنظر فيها اللجنة الخامسة.

1. The Secretary-General, in his report on the support account for peace-keeping operations (A/48/470) proposed the establishment of 127 posts as shown in annex VI to that report, in addition to the 266 posts that had been made available as of 1 August 1993 and as shown in annex III to the report.

13. The CHAIRMAN said that the Committee had before it the report of the Secretary-General on the support account for peace-keeping operations (A/C.5/48/69); in that respect, he drew attention to General Assembly resolution 48/226, of 23 December 1993, and in particular operative paragraphs 1 and 3.
٣١ - الرئيس: قال إن أمام اللجنة تقرير اﻷمين العام عن حساب الدعم لعمليات حفظ السلم (A/C.5/48/69) ووجه في هذا الصدد انتباه اﻷعضاء إلى قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٢٢٦ المؤرخ ٢٣ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣، وبخاصة الفقرتان ١ و ٣ من المنطوق.

In the report of the Secretary-General on the support account for peace-keeping operations (A/45/493), criteria were set forth that were to be " observed in the creation of all temporary posts chargeable to the support account " .

II.48. The Committee will address the remaining 10 posts (1 D-1, 1 P-5, 2 P-4, 3 P-3 and 3 General Service - approximately half of the proposed full staffing of the Situation Room) in the context of its review of the Secretary-General's report on the support account for peace-keeping operations (A/48/470) before the end of the year.
