5. Subsequently, the Secretary-General in his report on the question of South Africa (A/48/845-S/1994/16), inter alia, proposed an expanded mandate and size for UNOMSA.

The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 3329th meeting, held on 14 January 1994, in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the report of the Secretary-General on the question of South Africa (S/1994/16).

On 10 January 1994, the Secretary-General issued a report on the question of South Africa based on the findings of the mission of the Special Representative (A/48/845). The report of the Secretary-General contains a profound assessment of the pre-electoral situation in South Africa.
وفي ١٠ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٤ أصدر اﻷمين العام تقريرا عن مسألة جنوب افريقيا يرتكز على الاستنتاجات التي خلصت اليها بعثة الممثل الخاص )A/48/845( وتقرير اﻷمين العام يتضمن تقييما عميقا للحالة في جنوب افريقيا قبل الانتخابات.

The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 3393rd meeting, held on 27 June 1994, in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the report of the Secretary-General on the question of South Africa (S/1994/717).

On the basis of their findings, I submitted on 22 December 1992 a second report on the question of South Africa (S/25004), in which I noted that distinct progress had been made in implementing the recommendations set out in my report of 7 August 1992 (S/24389).
