2. Official travel of staff. In view of the urgent effort required in 1997 to bring about direct talks between the two leaders in Cyprus to negotiate an overall settlement, as described in the report of the Secretary-General dated 17 December 1996 on his mission of good offices in Cyprus (S/1996/1055), the Special Representative of the Secretary-General will be required to travel more frequently during the forthcoming period.
٢ - سفر الموظفين في مهام رسمية: نظرا للجهد العاجل الذي يتعين بذله في عام ١٩٩٧ لعقد محادثات مباشرة بين الزعيمين من أجل التفاوض على تسوية شاملة، وفقا للشرح الوارد في تقرير اﻷمين العام عن مهمته للمساعي الحميدة في قبرص المؤرخ ١٧ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦ )S/1996/1055( سيتعين على الممثل الخاص لﻷمين العام أن يزيد من رحلاته خلال الفترة القادمة.
