وبغية مساعدة الأطراف، ينبغي أن يعتمد مؤتمر الأطراف، في اجتماعه الأول، مبادئ توجيهية بشأن أفضل التقنيات المتاحة وأفضل الممارسات البيئية من أجل خفض انبعاثات الزئبق في الغلاف الجوي والمتأتية من فئات المصادر المدرجة في المرفق.

1. This Article is about measures to control releases of mercury or mercury compounds to land and water from the sources falling with the source categories listed in Annex G.
تتناول هذه المادة تدابير ضبط إطلاقات الزئبق أو مركبات الزئبق في الأراضي والمياه من مصادر تقع في فئات المصادر المدرجة في المرفق زاي.

2. For new emissions sources among the source categories listed in Annex E, each Party shall:

1. Each Party shall reduce and, where feasible, eliminate atmospheric emissions of mercury from the source categories listed in Annex E, subject to the provisions of that annex.

1. Each Party shall reduce and, where feasible, eliminate releases of mercury to water and land from the source categories listed in Annex F, subject to the provisions of that annex.
1 - على كل طرف أن يخفض تسريبات الزئبق في الماء واليابسة من فئات المصادر المدرجة في المرفق واو، وفق أحكام ذلك المرفق، وأن يقضي على تلك التسريبات ما أمكن ذلك.

2. For new [unintentional] emissions sources among the source categories listed in Annex F, each Party [shall] [should]:

Each Party shall take measures to control, minimize, and where feasible eliminate or prevent, atmospheric mercury emissions, and releases of mercury and mercury compounds to the water and land from the source categories listed in the Annex.
2 - يتخذ كل طرف تدابير لمكافحة، التقليل إلى أدنى، حد وحيثما يكون ممكناً، القضاء على أو منع انبعاثات الزئبق في الغلاف الجوي وإطلاقات الزئبق ومركبات الزئبق في المياه والأراضي من فئات المصادر المدرجة في المرفق.
