President Clerides, the leader of the Greek Cypriot community, had reaffirmed his acceptance in principle of the package of confidence-building measures on Varosha and Nicosia International Airport as set out in my letter of 17 December 1993 and his readiness to discuss the modalities for implementing that package once the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community had also accepted it.
