II. Observations and recommendations During the panel discussions the participants expressed their views on many aspects of the use of space technology for sustainable development.

The Committee also noted that the United Nations Programme on Space Applications should enhance coordination efforts with regional space events such as the Regional Space Applications Programme for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

The first working group focused on issues related to capacity-building, institutional strengthening and international cooperation, and the second discussed practical aspects of GNSS applications for sustainable development.
وركز الفريق العامل الأول على المسائل المتصلة ببناء القدرات وتوطيد المؤسسات والتعاون الدولي، بينما ناقش الفريق الثاني الجوانب العملية للاستفادة من تطبيقات النظم العالمية لسواتل الملاحة في أغراض التنمية المستدامة.

It was noted that the use of space technology should benefit all countries, in particular developing countries, and that capacity-building, dissemination of the benefits of space science, and technology for sustainable development were important elements of the programme.
ولوحظ أن استخدام الفضاء الخارجي في الأغراض السلمية ينبغي أن يعود بالنفع على جميع البلدان، ولا سيما البلدان النامية، كما لوحظ أن بناء القدرات وتعميم فوائد استخدام علم الفضاء وتكنولوجيته في أغراض التنمية المستدامة عنصران مهمان في البرنامج.

19. The Workshop focused on the themes “forest resources management” and “water resources management” and concentrated on defining impediments that affected the use of space technology for sustainable development and on proposing solutions.
٩١- انصبت حلقة العمل على موضوعي " ادارة موارد اﻷحراج " و " ادارة الموارد المائية " وركزت على تشخيص المعوقات التي تؤثر في استخدام التكنولوجيا الفضائية في أغراض التنمية المستدامة واقتراح الحلول اللازمة لها.
