We would also like to thank the Secretary-General for his efforts in preparing his report (A/ES-10/186) of 30 July, in accordance with resolution ES-10/10, adopted at the previous resumption of this session, on 7 May.

In that paragraph, the Commission invites the Special Rapporteur " to consider approaches taken to access to information with a view to sharing best practices " and " to continue to seek the views and comments of the Government and others concerned in the elaboration of his report " .

The CGE continues to collaborate with the LEG in preparing its report on how to integrate information contained in national adaptation programmes of action into the national communications.

The Chairman of the Commission for Social Development addressed the Commission for Population and Development in 1999. The Special Rapporteur of the Commission for Social Development on disability has also collaborated closely with the Commission on Human Rights in the preparation of his report on the implementation of the Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.

Mr. NAYAN (Malaysia) said that although his delegation fully appreciated the difficulties encountered by the Special Rapporteur in preparing his report (A/51/301), it disagreed with his approach, as he had relied mainly on quasi-governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and the international press for his sources.

28. Mr. Pinheiro (Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar), introducing his interim report (A/59/311), said that he had been obliged to rely on secondary sources in preparing his report since he had not been permitted to carry out a fact-finding mission in Myanmar.

4. The experts attending the October seminar asked the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people to take into account their conclusions and recommendations in preparing his report to the Commission and to transmit them to the relevant United Nations bodies for their information.
4 - وطلب الخبراء المشاركون في الحلقة الدراسية المعقودة في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر من المقرر الخاص للجنة حقوق الإنسان المعني بحالة حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية للشعوب الأصلية أن يأخذ استنتاجاتهم وتوصياتهم بعين الاعتبار في إعداد تقريره إلى اللجنة، وأن يحيل تلك الاستنتاجات والتوصيات إلى هيئات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة بالموضوع، لعلمها.

The problems encountered in securing the required evidence stem in part from a lack of cooperation on the part of the former United Nations Procurement Officer in question, who had resigned from the Organization during an investigation into his involvement in another procurement fraud case, and the withholding by OIOS of the identities of confidential informants it had relied on in preparing its report on the alleged fraudulent scheme.
وتكمن الصعوبات التي تعوق جمع الأدلة المطلوبة في عدم تعاون موظف المشتريات السابق المعني - الذي استقال من المنظمة أثناء التحقيق في ضلوعه في قضية فساد أخرى متصلة بالمشتريات - من جهة، وعدم كشف مكتب خدمات الرقابة الداخلية عن هوية المصادر السرية التي اعتمد عليها في إعداد تقريره عن الخطة الاحتيالية المزعومة، من جهة أخرى.

While acknowledging the ongoing debate and the diverse opinions that exist in relation to the topic, the Special Rapporteur emphasized the importance of looking at the actual state of affairs as the starting point for the Commission's consideration of the topic and explained that it was from the perspective of the lex lata, that he had proceeded to prepare his report.
وبينما سلم المقرر الخاص بالجدل الدائر والآراء المتباينة فيما يتعلق بهذا الموضوع، فقد أكد على أهمية النظر إلى الحالة الفعلية باعتبارها نقطة البداية لنظر اللجنة في الموضوع مفسراً ذلك بأنه شرع في إعداد تقريره من منظور القانون القائم والمطبق.
