42. Participants in the meeting emphasized the need to further enhance indigenous peoples' rights to participate in Convention meetings.

6. The accredited CSOs and CSO networks shall evaluate and review the criteria for financial support to accredited CSOs to participate in UNCCD meetings.

He urged all States parties to increase their participation in CCW meetings in order to raise awareness among the international community of the issues covered by the Convention and its protocols.
وحث جميع الدول الأطراف على زيادة مشاركتها في اجتماعات الاتفاقية بغية رفع مستوى الوعي في أوساط المجتمع الدولي بالقضايا التي تتناولها الاتفاقية وبروتوكولاتها.

The Meeting recognized the value and importance of the Sponsorship Programme for promoting universalization and strengthening the implementation of the Convention and its Protocols, enhancing the cooperation and exchange of information among the High Contracting Parties and States not yet party, and ensuring broader geographical representation at meetings of the Convention.
وسلّم بقيمة وأهمية برنامج الرعاية في تعزيز عالمية الاتفاقية وبروتوكولاتها وتوطيد تنفيذهما، وتحسين التعاون وتبادل المعلومات بين الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية والدول التي لم تصبح أطرافاً بعدُ، وضمان تمثيل جغرافي أوسع في اجتماعات الاتفاقية.

1. By its decision 14/COP.1, the Conference of the Parties (COP), welcomed the excellent cooperation existing between the UNCCD secretariat and the secretariat of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), as well as the reciprocal representation in meetings of the Convention and those of the GEF.

In addition, in decision 3/COP.8 the Conference of the Parties (COP) requested that input from CSOs be taken into account when formulating the selection criteria for financial support for their participation in UNCCD meetings and processes, consistent with the established rules of procedure of the COP.

Since the Cartagena Summit, the Sponsorship Programme, which since the Cartagena Summit was coordinated by Australia, continued to support such representation in the Convention's meetings.
