٢-١-١٣ وحيث أن النقطة التي يحدث عندها أقصى تغير في الانحدار عند قاعدته تُعرف، كقاعدة عامة، موقع سفح المنحدر القاري، فإن اللجنة ملزمة بموجب هذا الحكم بفحص كل اﻷدلة اﻹضافية التي تقدمها دولة ساحلية لتعريف النقاط البديلة من أجل تحديد موقع سفح المنحدر القاري.
