The General Assembly, in its resolution 48/55 of 10 December 1993 on international trade and development, noted the progress made by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in the implementation of the outcome of the eighth session of its Conference and emphasized the importance of follow-up and monitoring of the policies and measures set forth in the Cartagena Commitment. 1/

Emphasizes the importance of follow-up and monitoring of the implementation of the policies and measures contained in the Cartagena Commitment, 24/ adopted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development at its eighth session, held at Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, from 8 to 25 February 1992;

6. The goals of further strengthening international economic cooperation for development, based on the concept of partnership for development as defined in the Cartagena Commitment,1 and of confidence-building among countries for the promotion of growth and sustainable development should guide preparations for the Conference.
٦ - وينبغي الاسترشاد في اﻷعمال التحضيرية للمؤتمر بهدف زيادة تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي الدولي من أجل التنمية استنادا إلى مفهوم الشراكة من أجل التنمية حسبما هو معرف في التزام كرتاخينا)١(، وبهدف بناء الثقة فيما بين البلدان من أجل تعزيز النمو والتنمية المستدامة.
