. This report seeks to facilitate the Trade and Development Boards annual policy review of the technical cooperation activities of UNCTAD, which is undertaken in accordance with paragraph 107(b) of A partnership for growth and development(TD/378/Rev.1), adopted at UNCTAD IX.
1- يحاول هذا التقرير تيسير الاستعراض السنوي الذي يجريه مجلس التجارة والتنمية لسياسات أنشطة التعاون التقني للأونكتاد وفقاً للفقرة 107(ب) من الوثيقة " شراكة من أجل تحقيق النمو والتنمية " (TD/378/Rev.1)، المعتمدة في الدورة التاسعة للأونكتاد.

26. The representative of the Republic of Korea said that, in facing the even harder task of implementing what had been agreed upon at the ninth session of the Conference, UNCTAD must be more productive and competitive.
٦٢ - وقال ممثل جمهورية كوريا إن اﻷونكتاد يجب أن يكون أكثر إنتاجية وأكثر قدرة على المنافسة وهو يواجه المهمة اﻷصعب المتمثلة في تنفيذ ما اتُفق عليه في الدورة التاسعة لﻷونكتاد.

They argued that the decision taken at the ninth session of UNCTAD to treat work on least developed, landlocked and island developing States as cross-cutting issues obviated the need for a separate subprogramme.

In this regard, we welcome the renewed vigour of this body, as exemplified at the ninth session of UNCTAD, where Governments reaffirmed the relevance of UNCTAD's mandate as the focal point for dealing with trade and related development issues.
وفي هذا الصدد، نرحب بنشاط هذه الهيئة المجــدد الذي تجــلى في الدورة التاسعة لﻷونكتاد حيث أكدت الحكومات من جديد على أهمية ولاية اﻷونكتاد باعتباره مركز التنسيق لمعالجة القضايا المتصلة بالتجارة والتنمية.

To a large extent we can credit this result to the strengthened partnership which emerged at the ninth session of UNCTAD, and we would like to thank South Africa, in its capacity as host country and President of the session, for having deployed all efforts to achieve this result and to keep the momentum generated by the Midrand consensus.

42- ويعيد توافق آراء ساو باولو التأكيد على أهمية التعاون التقني الذي يضطلع به الأونكتاد بوصفه واحداً من أساليب عمله الثلاثة، كما تم التسليم بذلك أولاً في الدورة السابعة للأونكتاد، وتم بحثه في الدورة التاسعة للأونكتاد التي دعت إلى تعزيز التعاون التقني " بوصفه مكملاً أساسياً للعمل التحليلي الذي تقوم به هذه المؤسسة في مجال السياسات العامة وعمل آليتها الحكومية الدولية " .

All of us in UNCTAD recall the very detailed discussions that were held at the ninth session of the Conference about the underlying economic processes that are giving rise to globalization – the changes in investment and capital flows and the instantaneous nature of knowledge and information around the world that underlie globalization.
وأننا جميعا نتذكر في اﻷونكتاد المناقشات التفصيلية جدا التي أجريناها في الدورة التاسعة لﻷونكتاد عن العمليات الاقتصادية اﻷساسية التي تؤدي إلى العولمة: التغيرات في التدفقات الاستثمارية والرأسمالية والطابع الفوري للمعرفة والمعلومات في أنحاء العالم التي تستند اليها عملية العولمة.
