Furthermore, the Secretariat requested information from all States and intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations on changes in law and practice concerning the death penalty, as well as implementation of the Safeguards, paying special attention to the imposition of the death penalty against persons younger than 18 years of age at the time of the offence.
