64. Mr. Elshakshuki (Libyan Arab Jamahiriya) said that his country's name had been misspelled in the Arabic version of the draft resolution and requested the Secretariat to make the appropriate changes.

Mr. Sewaha (Egypt) said that, in the Arabic version of the draft article, the words " without showing sufficient cause " contained in the chapeau of the English text, had been transposed to subparagraphs (a) and (b). He wondered whether there was not a contradiction between subparagraph (b) of the draft article and draft article 32.

On 26 August 1994, the official Iraqi newspaper Al-Thawra published the text of Revolution Command Council Decree No. 109 dated 18 August 1994 (see annex, document No. 5) which was published in the Arabic version of the Official Gazette of Iraq on 29 August 1994, thus bringing the Decree into effect according to its fourth paragraph.

Ms. WAHBI (Sudan) said that, in the Arabic version, Morocco had not been included as one of the sponsors of the draft resolution. Moreover, the following countries had also become sponsors of the draft resolution: Afghanistan, Guinea-Bissau, Islamic Republic of Iran, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda and Zaire.

Algeria welcomed the fact that Papua New Guinea had accepted both. Algeria had not referred to the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, as was stated in the French and English versions of the report of the Working Group, nor to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination as stated in the Arabic version of the same report.
ورحّبت الجزائر بقبول بابوا غينيا الجديدة التوصيتين كلتيهما ولم تشر الجزائر إلى الاتفاقية الدولة لحماية جميع الأشخاص من الاختفاء القسري، مثلما جاء في النسختين الفرنسية والإنكليزية من تقرير الفريق العامل، ولا إلى الاتفاقية الدولية للقضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز العنصري، مثلما جاء في النسخة العربية من نفس التقرير.

By subsequent Revolution Command Council Decree No. 116 of 25 August 1994, published in the Arabic version of the Official Gazette of Iraq on 12 September 1994 (see annex, document No. 4), Decree No. 93 was extended to prohibit deserters and evaders from acquiring ownership of real estate in any way.

Mr. AL-CHEIKH (Syrian Arab Republic) said that his delegation also wished to see the reference to The Hague included in article 3 and the whole of Part 1 forwarded to the Drafting Committee, subject to some amendment to the wording of the first part of article 1 in the Arabic version, in which the term used for bringing persons to justice was too restrictive.
