1. The Security Council, by its resolution 1244 (1999) of 10 June 1999, authorized the Secretary-General, with the assistance of the relevant international organizations, to establish an international civil presence in Kosovo, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, in order to provide an interim administration in Kosovo under which the people of Kosovo can enjoy substantial autonomy.
1 - أذن مجلس الأمن، بموجب قراره 1244 (1999) المؤرخ 10 حزيران/ يونيه 1999، للأمين العام بأن ينشئ، بمساعدة المنظمات الدولية ذات الصلة، وجودا مدنيا دوليا في كوسوفو، جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية، بهدف توفير إدارة مؤقتة في كوسوفو يمكن في ظلها لشعب كوسوفو أن يحظى بقدر كبير من الاستقلال الذاتي.

26. When the Security Council authorized the SecretaryGeneral to establish an international civil presence in Kosovo in order to provide an interim administration for Kosovo, under which the people of Kosovo can enjoy substantial autonomy within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (operative para. 10), it decided that the main responsibilities of this international civil presence would include:
26 - وعندما أذن مجلس الأمن للأمين العام بأن ينشئ وجودا مدنيا دوليا في كوسوفو بهدف توفير إدارة مؤقتة لكوسوفو يمكن في ظلها لشعب كوسوفو أن يحظى باستقلال ذاتي كبير القدر في إطار جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية (الفقرة 10 من منطوق القرار)، قرر أن تشمل المسؤوليات الرئيسية للوجود المدني الدولي ما يلي:

The present report is submitted pursuant to paragraph 10 of Security Council resolution 1244 (1999), in which the Council authorized the Secretary-General, with the assistance of the relevant international organizations, to establish an international civil presence in Kosovo in order to provide an interim administration for Kosovo under which the people of Kosovo can enjoy substantial autonomy.

This is reiterated also in annex 2 to the resolution, under point 5, which provides for the establishment of an " interim administration for Kosovo as a part of the international civil presence under which the people of Kosovo can enjoy substantial autonomy within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia " .
