إن الدول الأعضاء، وقد اجتمعت في مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة الثاني لاستعراض التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ برنامج العمل المتعلق بمنع الاتجار غير المشروع بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة من جميع جوانبه ومكافحته والقضاء عليه، المعقود في نيويورك في الفترة من 27 آب/ أغسطس إلى 7 أيلول/سبتمبر 2012،

The Global Partnership for Sustainable Transport, organized by the United Nations Global Compact and the International Road Transport Union, had received broad support at the second United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the Group of Friends on Sustainable Transport had been holding regular meetings since 2012.

فليس اعتماد الوثائق الختامية في مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة الثاني لاستعراض التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ برنامج العمل المتعلق بمنع الاتجار غير المشروع بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة من جميع جوانبه ومكافحته والقضاء عليه، المعقود في عام 2012، سوى مؤشر على مواصلة الدول التزامها بمكافحة التجارة غير المشروعة في الأسلحة الصغيرة.

Local governments have demonstrated their commitment to achieving sustainable development through " Local Agenda 21 " , the role assigned to them in chapter 28 of Agenda 21 and reaffirmed at the second United Nations Conference on Human Settlements, held in 1996 and the special session of the General Assembly on the five-year review of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, held in 1997.
فقد أبدت الحكومات المحلية التزامها بتحقيق التنمية المستدامة من خلال " جدول أعمال القرن 21 المحلي " ، والدور المسند إليها في الفصل 28 منه والذي أعيد تأكيده في مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة الثاني للمستوطنات البشرية، الذي عقد في عام 1996 ودورة الجمعية العامة الاستثنائية المعنية بالاستعراض الذي يجري كل خمس سنوات لمؤتمر الأمم المتحدة المعني بالبيئة والتنمية، التي عقدت في عام 1997.
