Techniques and technical equipment used for investigations of cell phones and Internet, as well as devices for tachographs and satellite navigation systems, play an essential role in investigating smuggling of migrants cases.
23- وتقوم الأساليب والمعدات التقنية المستخدمة في التحرِّيات المعنية بالهواتف النقالة والإنترنت، بالإضافة إلى آلات قياس المسار ونظم سواتل الملاحة، بدور أساسي في التحرِّي في قضايا تهريب المهاجرين.

States parties are encouraged to expand informal cooperation and information-sharing measures not only to address the investigation and prosecution of smuggling of migrants cases but also to protect the rights of smuggled migrants, in accordance with domestic law.
30- تُشجَّع الدول الأطراف على أن توسع نطاق تدابير التعاون والتشارك في المعلومات بصفة غير رسمية، لا لمعالجة التحقيق والملاحقة القضائية في قضايا تهريب المهاجرين فحسب، بل أيضاً لحماية حقوق المهاجرين المهرَّبين، بما يتسق مع القانون الداخلي.

More efficient informants in smuggling of migrants cases are either smuggled migrants, criminals involved in the smuggling of migrants or persons who offer services (e.g. employees or owners of travel agencies, transport companies, hotels and guesthouses, telecommunication shops or translation services) that could be used by smugglers and/or smuggled migrants.
