In its resolution 60/233, on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, the Assembly called upon the Government to end sexual violence by members of the armed forces, in particular against women from ethnic nationalities.

This was especially true for villagers in ethnic nationality border areas of Kayin and Mon States.
