7. On 23 May, Madhav Kumar Nepal was elected Prime Minister with the support of UML, NC, MPRF, the Tarai Madesh Democratic Party (TMDP) and the Sadbhawana Party (SP), along with 17 smaller parties represented in the Constituent Assembly.
